Webex Decrypting Content

This feature is available in Cisco Webex Meetings. It's also available in Cisco Webex Events (New) as a Beta release on version 41.4 and later sites.

Optimizing for motion and video requires Cisco Webex video platform version 2.0. To find out which version you’re using, see Find Your Cisco Webex Meetings Version Number. The feature also requires that your site settings permit joining meetings from video systems. If you don't see the optimization menu, contact your system administrator.

This list of domains are added the SSL Decryption Exclusion list in each Content load so that the SSL engine will allow them to pass through, rather than trying to decrypt them. Applications In PAN-OS 7.1 and older, applications were used instead of domains. Web content (http/https links) from policy managed applications will open in any app that supports this protocol. The web content will be unmanaged in the target browser. This feature should only be used if you want to share protected content with a specific browser that is not enabled using Intune app protection policies. 1

Go to Share and select Optimize for text and images or Optimize for motion and video.

If you're sharing your screen or an application to play a video or an animation, select Optimize for motion and video. Video playback is smoother because of the higher frame rate. If you don't optimize for motion and video, Webex optimizes your content for text and images.

2

If you selected Optimize for motion and video and your content includes sound, check the Share your computer audio check box.

We recommend this option if you're sharing a video or animation that has sound. Everyone can hear what you’re sharing through the Webex Audio conference, whether they join from a phone, VoIP, or a video system.

Mac users: The first time that you choose to share your computer audio, Webex prompts you to install audio drivers.

Select Install and follow the on-screen instructions, or select Cancel.

3

Select the content that you want to share.

You can change your optimization setting while you're sharing content. Click Share at the top of the screen, and then select Share Content .

Webex has you covered with encryption for data in transit and at rest, along with the option for end-to-end encryption (E2EE) if needed. All media streams are encrypted during sessions between Webex apps and the Webex cloud. E2EE can be enabled to prevent stream decryption and limit encryption key access to a meeting’s host and attendees. All of the infrastructure in the middle is irrelevant as it can not decrypt the content at all. This is not how Teams works, while every stage of the journey is encrypted the service in the middle can decrypt content if it needs, for example to store data within the retention records or if you add a new person to the conversation.
