Despite controversy, glitches, and investor lawsuit.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been out for three weeks now and boy what a three weeks we have seen from indie Polish developer CD Projekt Red. If you haven’t been watching the news as of earlier this week CDPR’s investors have launched a class action lawsuit against the company for materially false and misleading advertising leading up to the game’s release. Specifically the fact that CDPR misled the public on the game’s performance on current gen consoles as well as other technical problems that wouldn’t be ironed out by launch.
The folks at CDPR have been working tirelessly since the game’s launch and have published numerous patches to fix various issues. Early adopters were offered an extensive refund program across multiple retailers while the game is still unavailable for purchase on the PlayStation store.

Meanwhile the only customers who don’t seem to be feeling the burn are on Steam and presumably the Good Old Games store where Cyberpunk 2077 is selling gangbusters. The game is presumably a big leader on Stadia as well looking at Google’s social media feed. Over at Amazon Cyberpunk 2077 reigns in as the #3 in PlayStation 4 games, #2 in Xbox One games, and #36 in PC-compatible games which makes sense when you consider there’s no reason to not buy the PC version direct from Steam or GOG.
