tl;dr: Read the Quick Start Guide.
Hp m1522nf driver for mac. Drupal VM makes building Drupal development environments quick and easy, and introduces developers to the wonderful world of Drupal development on virtual machines or Docker containers (instead of crufty old MAMP/WAMP-based development).
I have a slight issue in connecting Drush to my MAMP localhost DB. Already tried multiple solutions like changing host from localhost to 127.0.0.1, and editing MAMP files like this suggestion. It seems my socket location is slightly different from most examples I see on the web, being var/mysql/mysql.sock rather than tmp/mysql.sock. Phasmophobia free.
It will install the following on an Ubuntu 18.04 (by default) linux VM:
- Setting up Drupal 6 to use memcached is anything but trivial. There are plenty of instructions out there, but many of these are for MAMP 1.x, or involve MacPorts. This post will show you how to quickly set up memcached locally. Best of all, this guide will leave your system.
- Click here for a wonderful tutorial on using Drupal. XAMPP: The MAMP Alternative. If you don’t like MAMP, be sure to try XAMPP, another free Mac web development environment. We don’t think XAMPP is quite as polished as MAMP, but it does have a number of features that MAMP doesn’t, so if you’re a hardcore tinkerer, you better check out.
- Apache 2.4.x (or Nginx)
- PHP 7.2.x (configurable)
- MySQL 5.7.x (or MariaDB, or PostgreSQL)
- Drupal 7 or 8
- Optional:
- Selenium (for Behat testing)
Youtube won't let me sign in firefox cookies. It should take 5-10 minutes to build or rebuild the VM from scratch on a decent broadband connection.
Please read through the official documentation:
Mamp Pro
This VM includes many convenient utilities for local development, most of which can be enabled or disabled as you see fit (not everyone needs or wants an extra bundle of junk that they don't care about wasting their workstation's resources!).
