The Davis Creek Mercantile has been locally owned and operated since the late 1800s. We have several historic relics inside the store that bring back old memories of forgotten eras. We also have gas, groceries, and a post office. We carry permits and maps to collect obsidian. Rainbow obsidian, found at the Rainbow mine and Middle Fork Davis Creek is sought after for its colorful sheen. Pink obsidian from Pink Lady and the bundles of obsidian needles from the Needles Mine are most popular. Obsidian is dense volcanic glass, usually. Schitt's Creek continued its dominant awards season haul by picking up another prize, the latest acquired Thursday night during the 32nd annual GLAAD Media Awards. It was the beloved series. Obsidian Needles Mine is a rockhounding spot on North Fork Davis Creek in Modoc National Forest, Great Basin, CA. View a map of this area and more on Natural Atlas.
